The Contemporary Glass Society is a charity (Registered Charity No: 1153382) and the inspiring work that we do within the field of contemporary glass would not be possible without the generous support of our members, friends, corporate partners, private donors, funders and charitable trusts.
Your support is invaluable and makes a real difference, enabling us to provide our groundbreaking exhibitions, world-class conferences, and award winning learning programmes and events.
Why do we care?
Glass is an ancient craft, which is very much alive today. It is important to protect the heritage and skills that underpin this art form, and to maintain the profile of glass as a contemporary art form. There is an international need for a glass community that:
- inspires vibrancy
- provides quality information
- prevents artists becoming isolated
- provides encouragement
- enables artists to dare
- keeps glass in higher education
- preserves skills and protects the heritage of glassmaking
- stimulates the market for glassware and art
Glass needs, and deserves, an organisation that can provide cohesion and develop an ecology that makes glass relevant, connects artists and art-lovers and gives glass an international voice. As a central hub, CGS is a ‘go-to’ place for information, connections, education, advancement, motivation, inspiration and support for glass artists around the world.
This is why CGS exists.
There are many ways you can help support the vital work that CGS does, such as:
- Joining our group of members
- Becoming a corporate supporter
- Making a donation
- Leaving a legacy to CGS
- Telling others about us and encouraging them to become members themselves
- Volunteering with us
