Marjorie Sanders
Artist

I am moved by the simplest of forms and nuances of tone, color and texture. By working with the energy and flow of the glass, I want to express timeless movement, like rolling surf or drifting snow. My work encourages viewers to respond to these rhythms in quiet contemplation

Details about work or recent projects

Inspired by contemporary Japanese ceramic artists, I work with glass powders in subtle gradations of soft blues, grays and greens. I use grinding and blasting tools to shape and refine the surfaces and edges to attain a porcelain-like translucence and a matte surface.
