In partnership with Jake Peggs Opus Glass Design was set up in 1996. We work to commission and take on projects of all sizes from domestic to larger public art work. Our mission as artists is to bring contemporary but accessible glass work to as many people as possible. Both partners trained in the 1970's; Celia Frank from Chelsea School of Art and Jake Peggs from the Architectural Glass course at Swansea college of Art. We have completed numerous public art works, many within health care environments. We specialize in kiln formed and fused glass which we often hand silver for wall mounting, stained glass and mixed media sculpture.
Our most recent Public art works have been for the new Saint Mary's Hospital, and for the Royal Eye Hospital, Manchester. For Saint Mary's we created a series of linked fused glass shapes that were hand silvered and mounted on a 16 metre lift shaft wall within the main atrium. For the Royal Eye Hospital we made a series of 16 wall mounted tactile glass discs in the reception area to help partially sighted patients navigate their way through to the hospital.
