With a love of the outdoors, I draw much of my inspiration from forms, patterns, textures and effects found in the natural world. The Limenal Beach Series reflects natural textures caused by the ebb and flow of the tide. The Lattice Frost Bowl Series is directly inspired by frost and snow touched by sunlight emphasizing beauty within a fleeting fragility.

glass and bone china

Exploring light, colour, shadow and texture.

Colour and glass have always fascinated me. Lampworking combines the two and also gives voice to a drive to create that has enriched my life for many years. I am now semi-retired and can devote more time to developing skills as glassworker and silversmith. Me and my work can be seen at Monton handmade market on the first Saturday of each month.

I am a self-taught glass artist, working from my home studio in Chatham, Kent. I am also a volunteer at Nucleus Arts, where I help run the Rochester gallery and exhibit my work. I started on my glass journey making jewellery six years ago and am now a bit addicted to working with frits and powders on a larger scale.

Verity Blowing Glass in the Red House Glass Cone in Stourbridge 2010

As a glassblower, I relish glass as a material; the heart mind must work together at all times, it is mentally and physically challenging. My commitment and dedication to glass has lasted over ten years and I'm still going strong
