I am fascinated by the visual qualities of glass: the interplay between colour, light and translucency and also the sense of movement within thick bodies of glass. Inspired by natural, organic and modular forms, my sculptures arise from memories or feelings associated with some event or experience. The journey of each, from first sketches through to working on the piece itself, allows me to process the thoughts and feelings that were their initial inspiration.
I've been passionate about glass for many years, but actively for the last dozen or so. I have a particular interest in contemporary British glass and try to support artists by purchasing their work. I think glass is a wonderful - magical - medium that is sadly under-appreciated.
I have spent my career working with digital products and services, spanning roles at Lloyds TSB, SEGA, HMV, Sky and Dorling Kindersley. I currently own my own consultancy which helps publishers develop, make and market digital products.
I sit on the CGS Committee, providing a collector's perspective, and try to help with digital issues.
I trained as an architectural glass artist in Bristol and at Central St. Martins. My work includes various innovative techniques using vibrant colour to create unique pieces for site-specific locations.
I am an Edinburgh based sculptor working primarily in the mediums of glass and ceramics. I explore the simplicity of form in combination with pattern and surface texture to explore ideas relating to the human condition. I specialise in casting and engraving techniques. I have just completed my MFA (distinction) in Glass at Edinburgh College of Art and I have exhibited internationally.
Angela graduated from the Welsh School of Architectural Glass, Swansea Metropolitan University in June 2011. She has a studio space at Cockpit Arts, Deptford, London where she is experimenting with fused glass techniques.
