Studying for BA Hons in Contemporary Art and Design at WSD

Entering year 2

Glass graduate from ECA in 1962, returning to glass. The progress technically now means I have so much to learn.

I graduated from Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design (in glass & fine art, and glass architecture) in the summer of 2003 and work from my studio in Deptford, South East London. My work is sculptural (kiln cast, blown or slumped) and inspired by the forms of sea anemones. I exhibit and photograph my pieces in unusual settings (such as on beaches).

Since childhood a passion for art has driven me to experiment with a variety of media finally concentrating on glass. For 8 years I worked in repair and conservation work simultaneously developing skills in other glass related sectors. I teach traditional lead and copper foiling, fusing, mosaic and glass painting techniques.

Beveridge works from her studio on architectural commissions, installations and sculpture in glass. She has exhibited and taught in Europe and the United States and co-authored two books on kiln-formed glass and mosaic. In 2003 she won the New Talent Prize in the Jutta Cuny-Franz Memorial Award, for sculpture in glass.

Organiser of the twice-yearly National Glass Fair and the new glass fair at Knebworth House. These specialist events feature around 80 exhibitors selling antique and collectable glass alongside contemporary glass artists showing their own work.
