My work is kiln-formed, incorporating a range of media from fusing to painting with glass paint and enamels. I also like to use recycled float glass. I have studied at City Lit, Swansea and other short courses, and completed the Postgraduate Professional Certificate at Central St Martins in 2002.
Inspiration for my work is drawn from the world around me. I explore these observations through kiln formed glass, intricately cutting and layering float glass, drawing and collaging with natural materials, wire and coloured glass to create both abstracted and figurative imagery.
Born in Sutton Coldfield in 1961, he trained under the tutelage of Ronald Pennell at the Birmingham City University, Institute of Art & Design. Since 1982, he has been based in Toronto, Canada, and has established an international clientele, with his work residing in private and corporate art collections around the world. His introspective sculpture focuses on human transcendence and the complex issues that challenge humanity including equality, spirituality, our relationship with the environment, and capacity to have hope in the face of adversity.
I studied painting at Stourbridge College of Art and Design, which seems a very long time ago now. I have worked in arts administration for over twenty five years. I ran a very busy arts venue from 1985- 2003, the Norwich Arts Centre. During that time I greatly enjoyed enabeling creative people to realise their talents and for audiences to enjoy their creations. In my career, I have very rarely said no to good ideas, there is always a way to see end results.
In 2003 I became the Administrator & Fundraiser for CGS, I have enjoyed working with a dedicated committee to move the organisation forward into the amazing society it is today.
