Dr Fiona Wilkes‘ work explores the boundaries between traditional print, digital and glass languages which are research and production based, adopting a multi-disciplinary approach and focus on the interrelation between imagery, identity and memory.
Practice-based projects include national and international educational projects, residencies and workshops working with museums, galleries and organisations in the UK, Caribbean and South America. Fiona has exhibited widely including solo and group shows (Kettle’s Yard Gallery, Gallery A, Tate Modern, Lethaby Gallery, Horniman Museum, National Art Gallery Guyana).
I make glass pieces for pleasure after attending an evening class when I retired. I started with foiling and leading, and then went on to learn painting and fusing. I trained in graphic design, and enjoy the challenge of turning a drawing into a cutline.
Yellow Dog Glass has a studio at The Walled Garden in Wrington, making commision pieces and teaching. I teach a range of classes at Warm Glass UK. We are also the designers of the Adjustabail wall art hanging system.
