The Contemporary Glass Society achieves Charity Status
Bringing the delights of contemporary glass to the public and helping the glass-making community to thrive: Just two of the characteristics of the CGS that have been acknowledged by the Charity Commission, and resulting in their achievement of Charity status.
Victoria Scholes, the Chair of CGS says:
“This is great news! The award is a significant step for the CGS in our drive toward self-sustainability, and will mean that that we can go on bringing high quality contemporary glass to more and more people.”
The award reflects the CGS’s work to bring glass to a wide public, encourage young people to take up the profession and help the glass community to thrive. It will also enable the CGS to access a wider range of funding opportunities, and to make the most of the support of the support they already enjoy from their highly committed and dynamic membership.
The Contemporary Glass Society (CGS) has become a Registered Charity Number 1153382 on 14t August 2013.
