CGS conference - Glass Skills: Exploring the Fusion of Art and Technique

Another of our highly popular CGS conferences, this time at the National Glass Centre in Sunderland.
It is the fusion of the creative impulse with a high degree of skill that makes glass-making what it is today. With the decline of the glass industry, cuts to education, and a difficult economic climate, today’s glassmakers play a key role in keeping the skills and the art-form alive for the future. The conference will seek to celebrate high skill, inspire makers to explore how it works within practice, look at how to acquire more of it, unravel contemporary issues and to develop a vision for the future.
Speakers include international artist Luke Jerram and Dr. Jack Dawson, one of the UK's leading experts on Scandinavian glass, with more to be announced soon!
