Screen-Printing & Glass (1 Day Workshop)

12th July or 6th September 2014

(This class can also be arranged on other dates, subject to availability.)

Aimed at those who already have access to kilns and want to learn how to use screen-printing to get their own imagery onto glass.
We will introduce kiln-fired enamels, printing with powders onto compatible glass as well as decals and transfer making.

During the day we cover the entire process from coating a screen with photo sensitive emulsion, printing with it onto glass to stripping it ready for re-coating. The emulsion used uses a halogen lamp rather than a UV unit so is easy and economical to do.

Full details of equipment and materials needed to set up in your own space will be provided, along with suppliers.

Students will produce sample glass pieces with their own imagery and in a choice of coloured glass enamels. These will be fired and returned after the class. You are also welcome to bring your own pre-fused flat glass pieces to experiment with.

Please get in touch with any questions you might have or to book onto a class.
