London-based glass artist Yorgos Papadopoulos’ unique treatment of glass is innovative and highly experimental. Papadopoulos’ successful commissions range from medium size to large scale works for venues such as corporate headquarters, hotel lobbies, private residences, luxury cruise liners and garden landscapes. Pioneer of a technique he developed at the Royal College of Art, Papadopoulos breaks, colours and textures sheets of industrial glass and then re-laminates them to make architectural scale artworks which appear fragile but are extremely durable.
Yorgos Papadopoulos has recently completed an installation for a penthouse in San Francisco. Another work, decorating a small courtyard of a London ground floor apartment, is currently being installed. He is now working on a piece for a new entrance of a primary school and an installation of wine inspired panels for a private wine cellar of a listed historical residence.
