Based in Scarborough, North Yorkshire, Rachel Welford works to commission creating bespoke architectural glass artwork, including window, door and wall panels, screens and installations for any architectural application. Rachel also produces artwork in glass and paper based media following her own independent creative ideas making artworks for gallery, domestic interior or exterior environments.
Details about work or recent projects
Inspired by light, layers, reflection and translucency Rachel works with flat glass and mirror to create artworks with complex spatial relationships. Sandblasting and water-jet cutting are her main techniques. Recent commissions include panels for lifts in York Hospital, wall based artwork for Saint Gobain Glass UK and a ground based public art project in Scarborough.
