Alan Poole is one half of Dan Klein Associates and a Director of North Lands Creative Glass. Dan Klein Associates:Promoting contemporary glass in numerous ways such as occasional exhibitions, publishing books & exhibition catalogues, writing previews, reviews & forwards of exhibitions, magazines and glass society newsletter articles and taking charity auctions, etc. We are collectors of British & Irish Contemporary Glass covering some three decades and also occasionally have 'by appointment only' private sales of unique pieces of contemporary glass from internationally recognised makers from around the world.I also produce a regular, tri-weekly, group email news list outlining where British & Irish contemporary glassmakers are exhibiting their work, be it in exhibitions, fairs and or open studios. If you wish to be included in this, please send me your exhibition information (along with a current c.v.)North Lands Creative Glass:A now very well known and established contemporary glass summer school located in the small coastal village of Lybster, Caithness, north-eastern Scotland, (N.L.C.G.) holds regular ten day masterclasses, an annual weekend conference programme around August bank holiday time and has opportunities for four to six week residencies (occasionally as scholarships).Masterclasses have been led by world renowned Glass Artists such as, Tessa Clegg, Mieke Groot, Diana Hobson, Alioson KInnaird M.B.E., Dante Marioni, Dick Marquis, Joel Philip Myers, Paul Stankard & Bertil Vallien.Additionally, glass/mixed media courses are frequently held and we have been extremely fortunate in attracting course leaders such as, Tony Cragg, Richard Deacon, David Nash, Richard Wentworth, Alison Wilding & Adrian Wiszniewski to lead these in collaboration with prominent glassmakers. Over the last few years, specialist 'Bullseye' classes have also been added to the roster for those wishing to learn more about this particular type of glass.
Through years of research, I have garnered a vast amount of c.v. text information which I have now place on to computer. This covers British & Irish glassmakers/designers/artists/students, be they living within these islands or abroad and foreign artists now resident here, which I am constantly adding to and updating. If I have previously made contact with you in order to obtain c.v. information and as yet, you haven't responded, please do send in your details. I would be delighted to hear from you. NB. I often receive calls and emails from people looking for specific makers or artists working in particular techniques. Equally, if I have as yet not made contact and you are either British or Irish living here or abroad, or a foreign national working/living in GB or IRL, I would be please to receive your c.v. details.
