By profession, Mo Costalas is an Interior architect with 27 years experience. She 'discovered' glass several years ago and was instantly fascinated by the material and its endless possibilities of shape, texture and light. Her main inspiration comes from the human form, nature, the sea, forests and unusual rock formations. This forms the background to most of her work although architectural shapes still inspires and motivates her.
As a glass artist the main body of her work has been done using the lost wax technique and kiln form casting
Mo Costalas recently completed several core cast and cast pieces based on Architectural forms and figurines. She is currently exploring 'Origami' designs, working on a series of commissioned pieces of different sizes for a project in London
Several months ago one of her pieces was selected for the 2012 Glass Biennale at the International Glass Festival
She has also completed several figurine commissions of different sizes for clients from the States and Singapore
