architectural glass: glass enamels. acrylics. gold leaf. waterjet cutting. acid-etching. resin lamination.

Uju Obi creates bespoke art for exceptional spaces.

Uju works with architects and interior designers who want to create spaces that captivate.

Described as “ethereal” and “magical,” her work has been displayed in the Victoria & Albert museum, London UK and Nesta, UK.

With a background in textiles, Uju’s work is inspired by ideas such as applique, beading and pattern design.

Slowly getting back into Glass after the loss of my partner.

I have been working with kiln fired glass for about 5 years and enjoy making many different things. I have made foiled light catchers and leaded panels but prefer working with fused glass. I make table and home ware and some earrings and pendants but my real love is making landscape pictures in glass using powders and glass only. I use no paints at all as I think that is more true to the art.

Metal on Cast Glass

I found inspiration everywhere. Materials, textures, and colours influenced my glasswork. Metal and glass is my chosen medium and vocabulary. I paint or add metal onto my glass pieces to achieve a painterly colour and texture. It's material that gives substance to everything we see and touch. The exploration and experimentation of materials, techniques, and processes not only allow me to be creative but it does evoke my passion to make.
