LIQUID FIRE -FLAMEWORKING
This latest Exhibition is themed around flameworking, and finding inspiration from the following poem:
Short Flames poem by Raul Moreno|
Liquid Fire
Eruption of ash,
Earth bleeds as the mountain vents:
A river of flames.
It was a chance for 10 selected flameworking CGS artists to demonstrate their relationship between the flame, and the molten glass with which they work.
This was a CGS members juried show.

Collecting Leaves

Details: Installed at Artworks and now on display in Mison Del Sol Cuernavaca
Born in the light and flame, as the leaves outside were dying in the cold and short sunlight, the flame and creations were happening inside furiously. Its a collection of 500 leaves made over 3 weeks, working from 5:30am to 10pm every day. It's times like this when you realize you're hooked!

Burning Abyss
Details: Set of 5 beads , ~14 mm x 16 mm
Heat and gravity swirl using Effetre Murano 104 COE Glass rod & filigrana ( 2 layers yellow / clear) . The filigrana gives the appearance of movement due to the clear. You look into the depths of the fire.

Killing Field

Details: Flameworked soft glass - Wire - Wood - Stone - 200x200x120cm - 2010
The flameworked ear of corn were part of the "Flora Venena"-exhibition in Tilburg (NL) in 2005. Since then the installation “Killing Field” has been exhibited at several places in Europe. In 2011 “Killing Field” was selected for the Review 32 (CMOG – USA) and in 2014 it was published in “Kunst aus der Flamme”, a book on contemporary flame worked glass. In 2016 the installation is purchased by the Ernsting Stiftung and as so it became part of the collection of the Glasmuseum Alter Hof Herding (Coesfeld-Lette Germany).
