Morning Workshop: Micro-casting with Glass using the Freeze and Fuse Method with Rachel Elliott

This in-person workshop takes place in Falkirk, Scotland at Studio 164 from 10am – 12.30pm on Saturday, 1 March 2025.

Suitable for adults and aged 16+

During this workshop you will learn how to make 3D pieces of glass using the Freeze and Fuse method, which uses glass powder and rubber moulds to capture intricate details. Rachel will guide you to make a handful of colourful cast glass pieces from the myriad of moulds available, whilst learning the technical considerations of this technique. She’ll also cover what you could do with these pieces, from basic finishing into jewellery or as greeting card toppers, adding to larger fused glass projects or embedding into mosaic projects, and more.

If you would like to extend your learning, Rachel will be teaching an afternoon workshop the same day on glass enamels which will have some pre-made freeze and fuse pieces for painting.
