I have worked with fused glass for the last 10 years after retiring from the NHS, so do not have a highly technical training in this area. However I have been painting for over 50 years and this informs my ideas and designs in my glass work. I make practical and decorative glassware, as well as jewellery and wall hangings.I am presently Chair of the Oxfordshire Craft Guild.
Organic designs are generally the inspiration for my work, in particular landscapes and waterscapes, and foliage. I am always experimenting in order to get new effects. A visit to the Jurassic Coast a year or so back encouraged me to explore the strata of the earth and the ground beneath our feet, in coming up with new patterns and colour combination in working in glass.
