Catherine Carr

From her Highland studio, Catherine Carr designs with glass. Inspired by the role of women in textiles, she has pushed the technical boundaries of glass and developed an innovative range of knitted & crocheted glass vessels. Using traditional methods & iconography her work is exhibited across the international, contemporary craft market.

I am currently researching & testing further textile techniques such as weaving, traditional Aran/Celtic designs & Shetland Lacework Shawls. I am also investigating a wider range of glass materials, such as rope to create a new range of glass vessels & lighting.
