Gill Ellis

I'm an obsessive glass fuser! After training in Art and Design over 40 years ago I now get to indulge my creative passion. I work with float glass, that I prefer to source from a recycled or upcycled source. I use coloured frit, enamels and household chemicals to create colour, texture and design. in my pieces. I lean towards functional pieces such as very large bowls that can be beautiful as well as useable.

Recently I’ve designed and made a range of ‘everlasting flowers’
These are three dimensional, and stand on a spike in the garden or sunroom. The functionality comes from the fact that they are designed and made in a way that they collect water, so small birds can bath or drink from them!
