My practice incorporates digital technologies alongside the traditions practices of working with glass. I trained initially in stained glass before going on an educational journey that saw me completing a PhD (first in field) that explored the creative application of abrasive water-jet technology for creative practice (2006). In 2012 I authored a book "New Technologies in Glass" published by Bloomsbury. Since 2000 that time and have had my own practice exhibiting work at various venues around the world. initially my studio was undertaking stained glass work from commissions to restoration. Since 2006 I have been producing more sculptural and decorative artworks for exhibitions and collections whilst working in Higher Education reaching the position of Professor in Design. In September 2022 took voluntary redundancy and now have more time to work in my studio based at the bottom of garden. My work and research interests are about exploring the potential of industrial technology and how by collaborating with industry we can develop strong links and enable the work to be more sustainable. Cross-disciplinary collaboration brings insight, new approaches and enables the work to continue to push boundaries in terms of process and manipulation of materials. My work explores the parameters of self, machine and material; I'm always looking for a challenge and new ways of working whether it be 3 or 5axis water-jet cutting or digital printing. Available for commission
