David Peace Prize
The David Peace Prize is endowed by a bequest from the estate of founding member of the Guild of GlassEngravers, the late Dr David Peace MBE and a bursary from his family. David Peace, past Chairman and President, was noted for his lettering on glass. He believed in encouraging young talent in glass – not only in the field of lettering, but also figurative and abstract artists.

The prize will be awarded to the student whose submitted work, in the opinion of the judges, shows the greatest talent and originality in the use of engraving on glass. The decision of the judges will be made from the images submitted.

Student membership to the Guild is FREE!

Prizes
The first prize is £500.

7th John Ruskin Prize – From the Eye to the Hand

With a theme of From the Eye to the Hand, this renowned art competition offers £7,000 in awards, including a top prize of £3,000.

UK-based and international artists working in all mediums are invited to apply.

The selection panel is: Andrew Nairne OBE, Director Kettles Yard, Professor Anita Taylor, Dean of Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design at the University of Dundee, Charles. O. JOB, Architect and designer, Rachel Dickinson, Master of the Guild of St George and Emma Stibbon RA, Artist & Royal Academician.

The deadline to enter is Monday, 25 November 2024, at 5pm GMT.
