Depth of field workshop.

This two-day workshop is aimed at those who have had some experience with glass fusing and wish to build on their knowledge and skills.

Two day course building work in layers to create background and foreground textures, using sheet glass, frit and powders.

The light quality of glass enables superb depth of field; a boon when creating landscapes or works where a clear definition of distance and foreground is desired. Using Bullseye sheet, frit and powder this workshop is aimed at experimenting with the way different glasses react and layer under varying temperatures. Over the two days we will create two pieces: a landscape from your own images/pictures and a freehand work of your choosing. Two layers, two different firing schedules, but with scope for you to continue with subsequent layers at home.

If you’re unfamiliar with edge and bench grinding machines, there will be a brief demonstration for those who wish to use them.
