Sea of Butterflies
The commission was undertaken for a private new build house in Swansea. The Client requested the theme of butterflies. The glass was worked by sandblasting and silver stain. The majority of the glass is English Antique, chosen for its rich colouring and irregular surface thus creating interesting light play. Lambert’s glass makes up about 20% of the Windows. The Windows are situated above and to each side of the main front door to the house, facing a boundary wall hence the choice of colours. The work is double glazed.

"Parable of the Sower" Church of St Thomas a Beckett, Clapham, Bedfordshire
Details: Drill engraved 3 panel vestry window on low iron glass with some acid paste texturing approximately 2 metres wide
The brief was to use imagery to tell the story of the Parable of the Sower with the actual church engraved in the background. The Sower was to be enigmatic as He is often depicted as Christ himself. The design needed to give privacy to the upper room above a new vestry so had to cover a lot of glass. The LED lighting helps with privacy and enhances the 3D effects of the quite deep intaglio engraving.
