For as long as I can remember, I have always enjoyed making objects with items I find around the home. My passion for creating led me towards completing a Design Crafts degree at De Montfort University, Leicester. This guided me to find my creativity and passion in exploring glass making. I have had the opportunity to specialise in blown glass, as well as experimenting with fused and cast glass in the workshops. I like pushing myself to learn different glass techniques and blending them with sustainably sourced natural materials. My work is inspired by the Northamptonshire countryside and influenced by the variety of birds I see when walking and birdwatching, seeing the wildlife in their natural habitat.
My current work is exploring what a birdwatcher sees. By using symbolism to sculpt blown glass to capture how a bird watcher identifies a bird, using shape, size, form and colour. This is a collection that will be produced for my degree show at De Montfort University, Leicester
