Charlotte SAVILL
Charlotte is a stained glass and multimedia artist living in Bristol in the UK. Her creative journey began at Art College, firstly a Foundation Course then a Fine Art Degree where she specialised in Sculpture. She is now a fulltime glass artist and set up Leadlight Studio 5 years ago. She makes bespoke art pieces inspired by her love of the sea, swimming, art deco and the outdoors.
Charlotte’s work is created using both traditional lead and copper foil methods incorporating hand painted and kiln fired details. She enjoys the sense of clarity and calmness swimming brings to her life and is drawn to the beautiful medium of glass to reflect the fluidity of water. She also has a passion for medieval stained glass and can often be found in cathedrals and churches seeking inspiration and and sketching out traditional patterns to use in her own contemporary work.
