Lara Bell
I am an artist with over twenty-five years’ experience of stained and fused glass. Working intuitively, I develop ideas through painting and collage and translate compositions into tactile and textured glass panels through a process of multiple firings. I do not recreate real places but capture moments and memories inspired by travel and observations of society around me. I work from my home studio near Wells in Somerset, UK and regularly exhibit my fused glass panels and abstract paintings.
My most recent collection is Reflections of a New England; a mixed media collection of fused glass and abstract acrylic paintings inspired by journeys around the states of New England in North America. Earlier works have been inspired by observing social mobility in Sri Lanka, and the natural landscape around the South West of England.
