Alma Caira

BA Hons in Silversmithing and Jewellery, Glasgow School of Art 1990. BA Hons Digital Media, Canterbury Christ Church University 2004. I began my glass journey in 2005, creating small scale mosaics for my garden then enamelling on silver and copper. This led to further experimentation with fused glass and I was instantly hooked. I work from my garden studio in Whitstable, Kent where I also run regular glass fusing workshops.

Recently I’ve been focusing my attention on flame working to create elements to add to my fused glass. I’m captivated by the idea of creating hollow forms and am trying to master blowing small scale bubbles for delicate jewellery items.
