Mercedes Clark-Smith
My studio is called Sand and Mud to reflect that I work in both clay and glass. The inspiration for my nature-based work is all around in the timeless yet ever-changing coastal landscape of East Anglia, where I live and have my workshop. I work in stained glass (leaded and copper foil) and fused glass.
You can find examples of my latest work on my website listed below. Recently I’ve been working on a large painted panel of a hare and a badger but I’ve also recently made a “deep fuse” piece featuring a fox.
