Emma White

Originally self taught, for the first four years I have been working with glass since 2013. I began fusing and kiln-forming Bullseye glass. Moving forward to creating larger glass panels and to begin kiln forming my larger glass work. I have spent the last seven years working with hot glass sand casting, glass blowing and hot sculpting. I love working with glass whilst combining it with metal and organic substances. I feel like I am working in unison with the glass. Softly moulding and shaping the glass into something emotive, often abstract and full of colour or inner glow. The encouragement from family, friends and the artists community. Have enabled me to be confident in moving forward with my creative adventure.

I create abstract glass art both 2D and 3D. I love to use colours, plus other materials within my glass work, to obtain both expected and unexpected reactions. My pieces are often meditative. In 2019 I began exploring organic substances within my glass work. Which has led onto the creation of my glass fossils collection. Exhibited at Glashaus II at Parndon mills in 2023. My thirteenth cosmos installation also recently arrived back from Belgium. Where it had been exhibited in The Enchanted Garden. I am part of the workinglass collective and that has been quite an adventure. I am also currently working with Open ArtBox CIC delivering glass workshops to individuals with early onset dementia and their carers. Whilst also being a part of the art of grieving community of artists. Which have just had another successful exhibition at the Salvation Army International headquarters in London. I also exhibit with Artsproject London at St Pancras hospital regulary.
