Shonah Escombe

My love of glass started in 2017 when I attended an evening class at a local college on leaded stained glass. At the time I was enjoying a career in the world of IT. I have subsequently left my office job to work with glass full time. I have taught myself other glass techniques such as copper foiling, fusing and painting on glass. I have formalised some of my knowledge by gaining an HNC in Glass Art and Design from City of Glasgow College. From here I have attained a first class degree in Art and Design in 2024

Being a full-time glass artist, I am lucky that I get to work with the amazing yet challenging medium of glass every day. As ShogieB I use traditional stained-glass techniques as well as fused glass to create contemporary, fun and bright pieces.
