Helen Bower – Stained Glass Design & Craft
I spent over 25 years as a stained-glass conservator in a number of UK leading studios, during which I also become a William Morris Craft Fellow of the SPAB, and completed my Master’s Degree in Stained Glass Conservation & Heritage Management. I am now returning to my creative roots, and am self-employed making my own stained-glass designs, as well as working in mosaic, and polymer-clay.
My background in this traditional building craft has enabled me to hone my skills and work to the highest of standards. I also teach stained-glass techniques, and painting-on-glass for beginners.
I am drawn to colour, pattern, and processes. The kaleidoscope effect of rose windows and complex tracery patters from medieval cathedral construction, form the basic structure of my designs. As well as my own designs, I work to commission.
