Helen Whittaker

Helen Whittaker MA FMGP is a renowned artist and designer, highly regarded for her new stained glass windows and architectural sculpture in glass and copper. She creates eye-catching and engaging artwork in a variety of styles: Figurative, Abstract and Sculptural. Helen is Creative Director at Barley Studio, York, where all work is carried out in-house in the purpose-built Studio.

Helen’s work is generally undertaken to commission, inspired by the client, the brief and the building, whether housed in historic or modern buildings, in ecclesiastical or secular contexts. Her aim is to engage the viewer through good design and craftsmanship, creating energy and movement intertwining contemporary and traditional elements.

Helen’s recent works include new windows for the RAF Club, London, and The Queen’s Window designed by David Hockney for Westminster Abbey.
