IRENA POJE-OXENHAM

I started glass fusion in 2013 when I was attracted to rainbow-colored glass. This was followed by glass fusion courses and a lot of research into this technique, as well as additional education through courses abroad. It was by chance that it became my hobby, although I always thought that I had no sense for creativity and art. I graduated from economics, majoring in tourism, and art didn't have access to it. When, through my hobby, I filled my house with glass, the hobby began to grow into my business. That's how a webshop was created where you can see my creations, and I also started sharing my knowledge with others in courses and workshops. I try to pass on this love for glass and creativity in general to my students. In the last few years, I have exhibited at 6 solo exhibitions, several group exhibitions, and one of them was "Life in Glass" as well as at the 1st Biennial of Art Glass at the Museum of Ancient Glass in Zadar. I recently received artistic craft status for my glass work from the Croatian Chamber of Crafts. I am also preparing a new solo exhibition that will be held in November.

My opus of unique works extends from jewelry to bowls, plates, clocks, and decorative objects to glass paintings that I made specially for my last exhibition.
I am planning to make more pictures in glass using the glass fused technique, and I will concentrate on making big pieces for home decor, like big plates and bowls in intricate and interesting shapes.
I have workshops and courses in my Amalgam glass studio all the time, where I am teaching my students glass fusion.
