Janette Garthwaite

I work in my south London studio using texture and colour to produce vibrant kiln-formed glass pieces. My practice includes fused vessels, jewellery and wall-hung glass 'paintings' for sale through galleries, shops and as private commissions.

During the past locked-in year, I have worked on three pieces that make up ‘The Missing Year – A Diary’. They were my way of trying to make sense of what was happening in these unprecedented times. Previously, I have designed and produced items for major galleries from the Royal Academy of Arts to the UK Antarctic Heritage Trust at Port Lockroy supplying bespoke gifts for exhibition ranges. Although these are multiples each piece is handmade ensuring a unique product for the buyer.
