Kay Gibbons

Kay is a Stained glass artist working from her studio in Oxfordshire . She designs and makes windows for public buildings and for domestic settings . Kay runs Beginners Stained glass workshops from her studio .

Kay’s work is abstract , bold and dynamic .. It is a sympathetic dialogue with the space in which the window is situated and for those interacting within that space . Kay’s designs in 3 Oxford hospitals – the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre , The Warneford hospital and Littlemore Hospital are striking examples of this . Kay was able to draw on her own experience to explore and depict the narrative of people at vulnerable times of life. Kay used colour , shape and form symbolically to interact with the individuals in these places , where questions are often asked and answers are anxiously sought.
It is the greatest joy and privilege to be able to share with others the dynamism and vitality I have from working with glass ..
