Maree Dethick-Jones

Designer-creator of mainly kiln-formed glass work. My journey with glass started 17 years ago when I attended a year long stained glass evening class. Within a couple of years I started dabbling with fusing using the well known 'trial-and-error' technique (no real internet provision back then), only attending 'in person' masterclasses many years later.

My day to day work tends to focus on vessels, suncatchers, decorative items and garden pieces, but I also take comissions for larger panels and splashbacks too. I attend an variety of local maker markets with this glass work, along with open studio and local exhibition events too. I also design, pull and sell vitrigraph murrini for use in my own work and others to use.

When time allows I love creating more intricate pieces of work, and taking time to experiment with different techniques., for example I love playing with lampworking and casting.

I’m currently exploring the many different techniques available within the glassy field, to celebrate my deep love of Dorset and it’s natural environment.
