New Artists and reviews
I am making a series of plates and bowls featuring the colours and patterns of birds. I managed to develop a crackled and water colour effects on glass.
I have been exploring the use of controlled matrices of stringers in warm glass fusing to provide permutations of colour, and refractive index, interactions as air is trapped during the firing, Recombining these sub units in symmetric patterns, then firing again, can create kaleidoscopic illusions of depth and compelling cadences of colour and shade.
I often embrace digital manufacture in my work, programming and making tools to aid my geometric compositions.
I also collaborate with artist Charlie Murphy on the electronic and technical side of a variety of glass and mixed media projects, most recently exhibited at the acclaimed show “The State Of Us” at the Lowry gallery.
As team Photonic Excitors we recently joined in with Br41n.io Linz virtual brain / computer interface hackathon and achieved third place with our 3D printed fibre optic EEG headset prototype.
Recent projects include a web-based Glass Library built from measured optical data, studio calculators for kiln-forming, and continued development of relief-based image processes in glass. The Glass Library explores how commercially available kiln glass changes with thickness, including transmitted colour, reflected appearance, chemistry indicators, striker behaviour, and black point.
These tools grew from the same practical question that drives my artwork: if an image or design is going to be carried by glass thickness, the material response needs to be understood before firing. Alongside this research, I continue to make kiln-formed relief works, machine-drawn powdered glass pieces, cast paper impressions, and experimental molds that connect digital fabrication with hand-controlled glass processes.
My work is mostly inspired by the Czech and Slovenian glass sculptor like Libensky and Zoritchak . I like to oppose the transparency and the opacity, playing with the multiple optical aspects of the glass.

Growing up in a household with an Artist/Painter, I was always surrounded by various form of art and expressionism. I aim to collaborate traditional/contemporary form of Art or painting with Glass Art/ Engraving to form a new manner of expressionism. I am currently working on Engravings that depict symbolic moments in dreams, as well as works from popular culture. I am also looking to learn glass casting and other hot glass work, so I please contact if you have any ideas.
