“I’m currently experimenting with 3-dimensional fusing and hand manipulation of fused glass. The resulting shapes are by nature of the process, bold & organic, and I’m excited to add this hands-on ‘twist’ to my work.”
Jill has been running workshops for 10years in Shropshire and beyond.
And, as a member of the Shropshire Guild of Contemporary Craft, she regularly exhibits with them in Much Wenlock and Coalbrookdale (Ironbridge) as well as at Art & Craft Fairs in and around the West Midlands.

Encouraged by courses with Sue Woolhouse and Effie Burns at the 36 Lime Street Studios I now enjoy fusing, slumping, sand blasting and lost wax casting. I produce decorative pictures, jewellery and functional items
Recent projects concern the concept of “leaving a trace”. A body of work I have called “Vestigium”.
Part of my research has involved taking casts from archaeological excavations – specifically the revealed surfaces of medieval and Tudor remains of Woking Palace (Henry VII’s family through his mother Margaret Beaufort).
I have been using the Yorkshire landscape as inspiration for textured glass and stained glass landscapes for the last 5 years. From large 30 cm x 30 cm pieces to small 10 cm x 5 cm pieces which use layers of clear glass and coloured glass frits. Each piece is a `one off` and never replicated.
