Member’s Spotlight

When working with hot glass I find the fluidity of the material mesmerising. I love the look of the bright hot orange glow when first gathering all the way to opening the kiln to see all the bright colours and glossy clear glass, and seeing the glass come to life through cold working. My main inspiration for this work is motivated by my passion, horses, in particular, dressage, as well as being influenced by my family’s past glass business- ‘J. Wuidart & Co LTD’. There are so many similarities between glass and dressage, and for me there both about the process, the training and the different stages involved from beginning to end. The desire is there to create something beautiful and where one must learn how to control it and move with the movement to manipulate it.
