I've been collecting glass seriously for about 10 years. Most of my collection is historic (Murano from 1940s to 1980s) but I do collect contemporary glass by artists working in Venice and those influenced by Venetian techniques. My interest grew out of an exhibition I organised for the Carnegie Museum of Art in Pittsburgh looking at the relationship of Venice and America in glass in the 20th century. Once I retired as a museum curator I could start collecting.
I am very involved with the Decorative Arts Society 1850 to the Present
