The Contemporary Glass Society is inviting members of the Guild of Glass Engravers to take part in an online selected exhibition that will run from 4th March to 5th May, 2024.

The show is entitled “Making Marks” and this is your opportunity to highlight the amazing skills required to create the beauty of engraved glass. This is part of CGS’s annual programme of 2 month long online exhibitions which are also selling exhibitions.  For those members of the Guild of Glass Engravers who are not members of CGS, the Contemporary Glass Society is the leading UK promoter of contemporary glass and contemporary glass artists.  We have a membership of almost 1,200 and are open to professional artists, up-and-coming makers, hobbyists, collectors and those who just love contemporary glass. CGS is delighted to have the opportunity to work with the Guild of Glass Engravers and hope that as many of you as possible will take part in this exhibition which is open to all Guild members at all levels of membership, regardless of whether they are members of CGS or not.  Work for the exhibition will be selected by Trustees of both organisations and by our joint Patron, Mark Holford.  Important dates:Launch                                      2nd FebruaryDeadline                                   23rd FebruarySelection                                  w/c 26th FebruaryExhibition opening                   4th MarchMeet the Makers event            24th AprilExhibition closes                      5th May To enter:  CGS Members

Title:Fragility

Description: I have been fascinated by x-rays since I was a sick child in hospital. To create this piece I used overlaid imagery from multiple x-rays exploring the mystery of seeing the internal body from outside. I combined the blue reminiscent of x-rays with red suggesting danger and disturbance.
