“Spring Awaits….” Launched on 17th January 2024

A new year is upon us and we can start to look forward to those longer days, light breezes and sunny days of Spring. Spring – a word that conjures up gambolling lambs, crocuses breaking through the earth, trees dressed in greenery so bright it almost dazzles the eye and a gentle rise in temperature.

Brightening up the gloomy months of winter, this online glass selling exhibition displays a riot of joyous colour and budding beauty as we celebrate the awakening of new life in 2024.

CGS challenged member glass artists to submit their interpretations of Spring!

Launched on 17th January 2024

53 CGS glass artists exhibit their work. Most work is for sale.

Please contact the artist directly in order to buy work.

Title:Seebergsee

Description: If you could lift a mountain lake out of its stone bed as a solid object, what would it look like? I asked myself this question during the many hours I spent on the beautiful shores photographing the thawing underwater world in spring. Of course, I can't do that with the lake. But I can capture the free-standing water with glass and give the lake its shape without it lying in its bed.

Title:Story Box

Description: In reference to the historic term, Cabinet of Curiosities, this is a treasure box of spring finds. When we put an item in a glass case and present it as a treasure, it magically becomes more valuable. This is what I hope to offer through sculpting an interpretation of the small details in our natural world. Each element is individually sculpted and either fired in a kiln or on a torch.
