“The Human Condition”- Launched on 5th September 2022

“The Human Condition”
5th September – 31st October. Then permanently in our Gallery area.

So, what makes us human? What characterises the essentials of human existence from birth and continues throughout our lives?
We invited our CGS Members to ponder on birth, growth, emotion, aspiration, conflict and mortality or simply demonstrate through their glass what makes them who they are.
Celebrating their own personal condition to let their glass do the talking. They show us what they love, hate, fear and what they hope for.

Launched on:5th September 2022

Description: DISPLACED SERIES, APRIL 2022.
We are living in a troubled world where anger, cruelty, self-interest, and injustice are driving people from their homes. Unfortunately, this has always been the case from time immemorial and for many reasons we seem unable to live peacefully with each other.
In these pieces that idea of a home, a place to live in peace, is something to cherish.

Description: Establishing connections to the past is how we learn. We always create boundaries as we define new things. I've been experimenting with intermediate materials like wax to find the realm of undefined. Through the lost wax casting process, I link glass and metal in a contrasting way. In this organic and chaotic collaboration, I find a state and a space that is undefined and unbounded.

Title:Displaced I

Description: DISPLACED SERIES, APRIL 2022.
We are living in a troubled world where anger, cruelty, self-interest, and injustice are driving people from their homes. Unfortunately, this has always been the case from time immemorial and for many reasons we seem unable to live peacefully with each other.
In these pieces that idea of a home, a place to live in peace, is something to cherish.

Title:Undefined

Description: Establishing connections to the past is how we learn. We always create boundaries as we define new things. I've been experimenting with intermediate materials like wax to find the realm of undefined. Through the lost wax casting process, I link glass and metal in a contrasting way. In this organic and chaotic collaboration, I find a state and a space that is undefined and unbounded.

Description: The Sun and Moon are also symbols of Man and Woman. My sculpture below aims to show this meeting, merging, and the effect of these two heavenly bodies on each other. The Moon has no light of its own, it reflects the light of the Sun. During the day, when the brightness of the Sun is very high, the Moon is not visible, because in this case all the light of the Sun is reflected from it.
