I’m passionate about colours and textures in my work combining traditional enamel, glass and silver to create vibrant, unique and fun pieces. To see a rainbow will always bring a smile to my face. I try to be – Joy by name and Joyful by nature.

Items shown in the shop at the Ilminster Arts Centre and Quantock Arts and Framing, at Monkton nr Taunton
Drawing on a huge variety of both mouth-blown, machine-made and fused glass techniques, I juxtapose textures, tones, light and colour to create vivid, dynamic stained glass. All my commissioned work is the result of a tried and tested design process. Occassionaly I offer trainee positions in the studio and short courses.
I use a technique of making images from glass mediums & firing it in layers, in a kiln, to create one-off Glass Art images, with surfaces that are raised, tactile & highly reflective.

Kiln Formed Glass – I work to commission making large Panels of Glass & Triptychs; interjecting the clients chosen themes & colour combination into the design.

During lockdown, through the CGS Zoom meetings I was introduced to different methods, of making glass, of which I never thought I could do. I have now added to my repertoire, Signed – Limited Editions Cast Glass Sculptures & Personalised Cast Glass Footprints or Hand prints…
My Group, of Artists: The ‘Take Five Artists Group’, started working together in 2018. We are a diversified group, being, we all work in different mediums and for May 2023 we will be exhibiting at the ST Albans Museum… alongside the Sustainability Market. The theme is based on my kiln work, ‘Earths Seven Natural Elements’ & ‘The Periodic Table of Elements as Conceptual & Abstract Glass Art.

My work is often inspired by my surroundings – sheep filled meadows, the sun setting over the brow of the hill whilst the woodland owls call to each other, coastal scenes which evoke images of carefree seaside holidays … each piece designed to bring a smile to your face.
In business as a glass artist for over twenty years Jackie has undertaken public art commissions up and down the country, each involving community engagement. Jackie also takes private commissions and repairs stained glass. She takes part in local Open Studios events – previously Yorkshire, now Dorset. She regularly teaches short courses in stained glass.
