New Artists and reviews
Recent conversations with viewers, have instilled confidence about this work making a necessary difference in the arts, expressing that it needs more exposure. I am seeking ways to confront, discuss and relate to what these challenges present for not only myself, but other transitioning veterans. This work establishes new possibilities and ideas which I believe will contribute to a learning opportunity within the art and veteran communities, moreover, healing for those who need support.
Fused glass ornaments, jewellery and art mainly made from reclaimed float glass.
I have shifted most of my practise to work with recycled glass. I love making something out of a waste product such as picture frames and bottles and enjoy finding unusual ways to add colour and form to clear glass.
I am fascinated by the way glass can change what is around it with its colours and refractions.
I like to make items for specific people or locations in the house. The fun is in the making and developing more standard projects. I asked the teacher at Creative Glass Bristol why my pieces took so long ,his instant reply was “ you never do what you’re told”. Glass is toys for adults.
I find leading less appealing than fusing but it is useful for combining more than one technique, hence the above door panel in my kitchen
