My main interest is in the mathematics and forms in nature and how the earth yields up its history through discarded objects and finds. Recently I have been exploring the theme of shipwrecks and the deterioration and loss of form through time. I have aimed to recycle all the scrap glass in my workshop to produce these sculptures which are now extending into adding glass to paintings which takes me back to my Fine Art roots.

Aaronson, Adam

Adam specialises in free blown glass, and his work experiments with the hugely varied possibilities of the medium. His vessels and sculptures are at once a celebration of the simplicity of pure form, and also an investigation into the possibilities of layering. His coloured patinas include complex abstract arrangements, drawing on painterly techniques used by the artists Pollock and Miro, but also inspired by a love of nature and landscape akin to the Impressionists. Working both on major commissions and unique bodies of work, Adam’s work is always on display at his studio in Surrey. During the year, Adam participates in a number of group shows as part of the Surrey Sculpture Society, and as Fellow of the Society of Designer Craftsmen.
